Roger Western
Roger has been a keen DXer and contester throughout his amateur radio career, especially on CW and on HF. This is in addition to his DXpeditioning and more recently authoring activities.
From his early days as a competitive SWL through living in Iran for ten years (EP2IA) and forty years of DXpeditioning, including visits to West Africa every one of the past twenty years, Roger has always enjoyed chasing DX. He was elected to the CQ DX and CQ Contest Halls of Fame, only the fourth person ever to be invited to both Halls.
In short, Roger believes that competitive DXing serves to hone operating skills and leads the way in technological development. It is nowadays a major attraction for new amateurs to join our ranks.
